About Us The story behind Classic Guitars Well it all started on a warm summer’s day in 1964, riding my bicycle down the street singing "a ticket to ride" while holding up one of my sister’s Beatles cards. My folks bought me the first of many guitars that week and my best friend Wally and I proceeded to play till our fingers bled - we were six years old! Since that time guitars and music have been a passion. Old, used, strange and occasionally new instruments have passed through my hands for over thirty years. While I don't claim to be an authority, I have seen, held, played, bought, sold, loved and lost an incredible variety of guitars, banjos, mandolins and various other stringed instruments. I consider myself very fortunate to have known the instruments and musicians who played them. The store was originally a sociology experiment that just got plum out of control. Now in our fifteenth year, Classic Guitars is a vibrant happening musical experience. Currently we are Vancouver Island's premiere Vintage shop with an ever changing selection of vintage, used, and just plain funky instruments. We are always available to chat, offer advice and appraise your instrument. We buy, trade, and consign only quality instruments. |
